Meet Peter

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

Helping clients achieve their business and personal goals.

What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?

Working with like-minded people who have a passion to serve our clients with a mindset that by default put our client’s needs first.

How should people think about their wealth?

I think it’s important for people to first develop a healthy relationship with money, acknowledging that it cannot buy happiness or fill certain voids. Just as “success” means different things to different people, so does “wealth.” It’s important to actively work towards growing our wealth without forgetting that it, or the items it can buy, doesn’t define us.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I love the moments spent with my wife and daughter, as these times bring me the greatest joy and fulfillment. Mountain biking, participating in triathlons and running are my passions.

What would you be doing if you weren't working for Aspiriant?

I would be a triathlon or running coach – there’s nothing better than helping people achieve their goals.

Please list 3-5 career highlights, or the most important entries from your professional resume.

I led the transformation of the Expense Management department into the Accounting & Banking Services department, streamlining our operations and enhancing efficiency. I also had the opportunity to create and develop the accounting and finance department from the ground up for a start-up, laying a solid foundation for its financial operations. Additionally, I was instrumental in developing and expanding the tax department for a publicly traded company, overseeing both income tax and sales and use tax, which significantly improved our compliance and strategic tax planning.

What was the most influential book you've read and why?

Seth Godin’s ‘Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?’ taught me how to become indispensable at work. Traditionally, the workplace was seem as divided between management and labor. Godin introduces a third category: the linchpins. Linchpins figure out what to do when they’re in uncharted territory. I see myself as a linchpin. And similar to Aspiriant, we love our work, we pour our best selves into it and turn each day into a kind of art.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I'm incredibly proud of running the New York City Marathon, a true test of my perseverance and strength. Learning how to wakeboard also ranks high on my list of personal achievements, reflecting my willingness to dive into new experiences and conquer them.
