Joe Gagnon is the creator of the High-Performance Life, a philosophy and guide to learn techniques for mental toughness, creative problem solving, leadership and personal effectiveness. In our Money Tales conversation, Joe makes it abundantly clear how this goal-driven approach to life has fueled him to achieve success in all areas of his life: family, money, and physical and mental endurance, including successfully running six marathons across six continents over six consecutive days in 2017.

Joe grew up in the Bronx. His father was a social worker and they had to save every dime, literally. He went on to achieve career success as a young consulting partner at Ernst & Young and ultimately, decided that his life was missing purpose. That led Joe to create a series of personal, fitness and career goals that have taken him up and down the chutes and ladders of life ever since, always striving to better himself and those around him. One thing that has remained true for Joe across all of his endeavors is maintaining the discipline to always save money along the way.

Joe is a rare mix of entrepreneur, innovator and visionary executive with global experience, having worked with clients in more than 45 countries. As a turnaround CEO, he has taken over from the founder on three occasions, restructuring the businesses and putting them on a path to growth. Joe is a seasoned CXO executive, with over 20 years of operational experience focused on software-enabled businesses, transformation and technology innovation in tech, retail, education, hospitality and health and wellness.

As a firm believer in the parallel challenges of leading a company and pushing physical fitness limitations, Joe is also an accomplished endurance athlete. He has completed six Ironman Triathlons and over 75 marathon+ distance races. He recently published his book Living the High Performance Life.
