Something in the field of archaeology or coaching a youth sports team.
What was the most influential book you've read and why?
“Rad American History A-Z,” by Kate Schatz. It’s a very basic book, but I learned a great deal about historical movements that are not always covered in school. Very eye-opening and inspiring.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Participating in three sports (swimming, volleyball and softball) in high school and playing competitive water polo for the first time in college.
Bio
Summer joined Aspiriant in 2021 as the Chief People Officer. She has more than 14 years of experience within the field of Human Resources. In addition to her Chief People Officer responsibilities, Summer is also a member of Aspiriant’s Executive, Compensation and Operating committees.
Prior to joining the firm, Summer spent two and a half years at Cetera Financial Group focusing on talent development, organizational design and change management. She also worked as an HR Director for IMT Residential and held various HR roles at Nestle. Summer earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of La Verne where she was a member of the swim and water polo teams. She earned her Professional in Human Resources designation in 2014.
Summer grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and moved to Southern California after graduating college. She is active in her local community, participating in events to clean up the Chevy Chase Canyon throughout the year. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog and husband, and spending weekends in Palm Springs where she plays pickleball.
