Aspiriant Awards 3 Scholarships to Next-Gen Financial Advisors

In support of a more diverse generation of forward-thinking financial planners, Aspiriant is happy to announce the first three recipients of the Aspiriant Impact Scholarship.

Aspiriant partners with the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning — which shares our belief that every American should have access to competent and ethical financial planning services — to create the annual scholarship for students pursuing a career as a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP^®).

We’re excited to introduce the first three awardees, who will each receive $5,000 for their passion and commitment to the profession:

• Gabriel Solis — After 10 years in the field of education and passionate about mathematics, Gabriel is ready to make the leap into the financial planning profession. Becoming a CFP is a “legacy” for him as he feels empowered to help families become liberated from generational poverty. Having been inspired by going through Dave Ramsey’s baby steps, he decided to make a career change and help others achieve financial liberty.
• Alejandra Fong-Perez — Alejandra became passionate about the financial planning profession after having little exposure to quality financial advice growing up. The first in her family to graduate from a four-year university, she seeks to fill the gap for her community and connect other immigrant families with opportunities to make confident and educated financial decisions.
• Katrina Sable — Katrina is the second member of her family to go to college, earning a full scholarship for her leadership and community involvement. Excelling in math, language and economics, she graduated with honors in 2010 with a Master’s degree in economics.

The Aspiriant Impact Scholarship program was launched last year as part of our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging initiative, which strives to cultivate a quality workforce with a broad range of perspectives and backgrounds to serve clients. We believe a diverse and inclusive culture is essential to helping people of all walks of life achieve their financial and life goals.

Katrina, Gabriel and Alejandra were selected from a pool of 100 applicants representing diversity in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and financial need.
