What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
After more than three decades in the industry, I’ve never stopped learning. I’m constantly curious and enjoy expanding my understanding.
What’s the biggest challenge?
Dealing with all the aspects of our clients’ lives, including both ups and downs. Staying balanced between the euphoria of the ups and the dreariness of the downs can be a challenge.
What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?
I was attracted to Aspiriant’s client-centric culture and people.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
Founding and building a successful, independent wealth management firm after 22 years of working at a large Wall Street brokerage firm.
What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?
Walking in other peoples’ shoes — empathy combined with determination to move forward and accomplish goals.
How should people think about their wealth?
Someone is going to enjoy your wealth, it might as well be you. Using it and giving it away can be both fun and rewarding.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I enjoy playing and viewing sports. Golf and pickleball are two of my current favorite pastimes.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working for Aspiriant?
I’d still be running HearthStone Private Wealth Management, the independent firm I started with my business partner, Wendy Wildey.
