Meet Myles

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

Things change at a fast pace in this profession. I love that I’m always learning something new and I enjoy interpreting and communicating to our client’s how changes might impact their unique situation.

What's the biggest challenge?

Anxiety about finances can lead to paralysis. Our job is to provide clarity and peace of mind. The biggest challenge is helping clients stick with the plan we create together, when understandably, the world around us is chaotic and we feel the need to react.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Earning a Master in Business Administration in Financial and Tax Planning.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?

A focus on the details and the thoughtful pursuit of the best solution.

How should people think about their wealth?

Build wealth through proactive planning, but focus your wealth on experiences.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Bootcamp class, snowboarding, reading, and trying to learn how to cook (as an avid Food Network watcher). I love to travel and have been fortunate to have lived in Mexico, Argentina, and France.

What would you be doing if you weren't working for Aspiriant?

If money were no object I would travel the world and teach languages.

Myles joined Aspiriant in 2016 as part of our merger with Hokanson Associates.

Myles began his professional career at Blue Summit Wealth Management in San Diego, a boutique wealth management firm specializing in socially responsible investing, where his primary responsibility was creating financial plans to help clients stay on track to meet their financial and life goals.

Prior to starting his career in wealth management, Myles was a language enthusiast, who lived in Lyon, France for a year on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, and subsequently taught French at San Diego State University.

In 2014, Myles was a member of the first cohort to participate in the Charles Schwab Executive Leadership Program, which focused on five key areas of practice management – positive leadership, managing innovation, talent management, strategic marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Originally from the Bay Area, Myles completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Financial and Tax Planning. He also holds a DEUF diploma from Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in Lyon, France and an International Business Certificate from Monterrey TEC in Monterrey, Mexico. Myles has earned his Certified Financial Planner credential.

Myles is a member of the San Diego Coastal Rotary club. He is also a member of the Board of Directors at Casa de Amistad, a community organization that provides tutoring, educational support, and character development for underserved children and teens in coastal North County San Diego.
