Bio

Linda has just recently joined Aspiriant as a result of the merger with Hokanson Associates in Solana Beach, CA. Linda co-founded Hokanson Associates, along with Neil Hokanson, back in 1987 driven by the need to combine comprehensive financial planning advice with independent investment portfolio management in a client centered conflict free business model. Linda is a Certified Financial Planner, CFP®, and her role at Hokanson Associates was as director of the Client Services/Financial Planning group. She managed a number of client relationships as well and was also involved in leading and growing the firm and was dedicated to maintaining a culture of integrity and service commitment to clients. Happily, with both shared client and business philosophies, she is thrilled to be joining the Aspiriant team.

Linda’s career in financial services started in banking while in college, working for both Far West Savings & Loan in Newport Beach, CA and American Savings in Laguna Hills, CA. After college at the University of CA San Diego, she worked for Blankinship & Associates, a duly registered financial planning firm in Del Mar in 1985. It was there, she met Neil Hokanson, and they formed Hokanson Associates in August of 1987.

Linda enjoys devoting personal time to organizations benefiting our local communities and to targeted international efforts as well. Linda is immediate past President of the Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club and the year was so rewarding. Traveling abroad and developing relationships with those best able to evaluate what’s needed to be effective in their own communities coupled with taking advantage of Rotary financial matching opportunities, created amazing impact. She served as Treasurer for three years prior. Linda is a founding member of Hand to Hand, focused on empowering local women and girls to effect positive change in their lives, and served as head of the finance committee from 2008 to 2010. She also currently serves on the Investment Committee for the Girls Scouts, San Diego and will serve on the Finance and Strategic Planning Committee within the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation Board, starting in 2020. While her children were in school, she served on the finance committee for St. James Academy and as Treasurer/Liaison to the La Costa Canyon Foundation for the basketball program.

Linda enjoys spending time with her 24 year old daughter, Haley, and 22 year old son, Drew. She is committed to yoga, some ever changing form of dance exercise, and walking on the beach along with baking, cooking, good wine and reading mysteries.
