Milwaukee Wealth Management
Meet Our Wealth Management Team in Milwaukee
At Aspiriant, we take the term “total wealth management” seriously. It’s a term that’s integral to why we do what we do, and how we do it. Total wealth management encompasses the entire, holistic picture of a client’s financial life — and that extends beyond financial planning and investment management to disciplines like tax planning, which have a major impact on a client’s ability to achieve their long-term financial goals.
Aspiriant’s Milwaukee team is a living, breathing example of that mindset brought to life. Our Milwaukee office was created through Aspiriant’s acquisition of Deloitte Investment Advisors (DIA), a fee-only registered investment advisory group owned by Deloitte Tax LLP, in 2010. The wealth managers in our Milwaukee office bring together vast expertise in numerous areas of finance, from business succession planning to family office services and fund management.
In addition to providing comprehensive wealth management, financial planning, and investment management, Aspiriant’s Milwaukee team specializes in:
- Education Planning
- Family Business Services
- Retirement Planning
- Succession Planning for Family Businesses
- Value Investing
- Women and Wealth
Our Milwaukee team’s commitment to providing innovative, high-quality client service is award-winning and well-recognized. John Petrie, CPA, CFP®, CIMA® managing director in total wealth management and partner, was named as a Forbes 2020 Best-In-State wealth advisor. David Muchow, CFP®, MBA, director in wealth management and partner, in our Milwaukee office, has ranked on Forbes’ list of America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors for three consecutive years. Mary Ellen Krueger, CIMA®, director in wealth management and partner, was ranked as the top woman in Wisconsin on the Forbes 2019 Best-In-State list.
Beyond their work with clients, our Aspiriant wealth managers are also passionate about helping members of the local Milwaukee community. As part of Aspiriant’s annual Day of Giving, our Milwaukee team has previously volunteered with the Hunger Task Force, Robyn’s Nest at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee’s Camp Whitcomb/Mason. We’re proud of their commitment to enriching the lives of others, whether it be Aspiriant’s clients or the Milwaukee-based citizens who need it most.

Disclosure: No fees were paid for the above mentioned awards and rankings.
The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data.
For the Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors, SHOOK research considered advisors born in 1981 or later with a minimum four years as an advisor. Advisors have built their own practices and lead their teams; joined teams and are viewed as future leadership; or a combination of both. Ranking algorithm is based on qualitative measures: telephone and in-person interviews, client retention, industry experience, credentials, review of compliance records, firm nominations; and quantitative criteria, such as assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC, which does not receive compensation from the advisors or their firms in exchange for placement on a ranking, and not indicative of future performance or representative of any one client’s experience.
For the Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors, each advisor is chosen based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria, including in-person interviews, industry experience, compliance records, revenue produced and assets under management. Click here for more information.
