What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
Building relationships with our clients and helping them achieve their personal goals. Seeing them happy gives me the most satisfaction.
What's the biggest challenge?
Not being able to control market and law changes that could impact client goals.
What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?
The caring culture for both our clients and our people.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
Earning my CPA credential, completing my Masters in Tax while working full time (with numerous tax-busy seasons), and getting my CFP® certification. I’m not done yet though; please check back in 10 years.
What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?
My work background trained me to be analytical and detail-oriented, and my personal experiences helped me to be compassionate and caring to all those around me. I also bring a strong work ethic, trustworthiness, curiosity and enthusiasm to every client relationship.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I love traveling and learning new cultures, especially when I get to share these experiences with friends and family. Delicious foods fill me with joy, and I’ve been so fortunate to have lived in places with such amazing cuisines — namely Vietnam, Hawaii and San Francisco.
What would you be doing if you weren't working for Aspiriant?
I would run a travel agency to put together itineraries that are comprised of fun and memorable experiences for others to enjoy their lives to the fullest.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Adapted in new and foreign environments Applied and interviewed for more than 40 scholarships to fund my college education Trained for and ran the Nike Women’s Half Marathon
Bio
Michelle joined Aspiriant in 2017 as an advisor in the Wealth Management team. She has over ten years of experience within the financial services industry helping families with their financial goals.
Prior to joining the firm, Michelle started her career in public accounting. As a tax manager at Deloitte, her work focused on tax compliance and consulting for real estate partnerships, private equity investment partnerships, and high net worth families. Michelle also trained and managed numerous engagement teams globally.
Michelle double-majored in Accounting and Hospitality at the University of San Francisco and earned a Master’s in Taxation at Golden Gate University. She has held her Certified Public Accountant credential since 2011 and earned her Certified Financial Planner™ credential in 2017.
Michelle moved to the U.S. at the age of 10 from Vietnam, and she dreamed about traveling back to her home country to volunteer. In 2015, she was able to spend three months in Vietnam teaching and fundraising in schools, hospitals and soup kitchens.
