Helping several of my junior colleagues become Aspiriant partners over the past 10+ years.

I explain complex concepts in a way that they can be easily understood.

Wealth is a means to accomplish the things that are important to you.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Spend time with my family.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working at Aspiriant?
Either working for another independent wealth management firm or in business for myself doing the same type of work.
Being promoted to director at Deloitte and helping to transition its national wealth management practice to Aspiriant. Additionally, taking on leadership roles locally and nationally at Aspiriant.
What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?
“The Wealthy Barber,” by David Clinton. It highlights the importance of breaking down seemingly complex concepts so people can understand them.
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
Marrying the love of my life and helping to raise our four daughters to become the strong young women they are today.

John has been providing wealth management services for higher net worth individuals and their families for more than 25 years. He joined Aspiriant in 2010 as a result of the firm’s acquisition of Deloitte Investment Advisors. Both Barron's and Forbes have recognized John as one of the top wealth advisors in the country.
As the managing director of our eastern region, John leads our offices in Boston, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and New York. Serving clients and working with his incredibly talented colleagues across the country brings him a tremendous amount of joy both professionally and personally.
Prior to joining Aspiriant, John served as a director with Deloitte Investment Advisors for eight years. His career began in 1992 at the accounting firm Arthur Andersen.
John received a degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1991. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA). John is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute. He continues to serve the YMCA as a long-time board member.
John and his wife Ann have four daughters. In his free time, John enjoys exercising, playing the piano and spending time with family.
