In recognition of his demonstrated courage and vision, Aspirant CEO Rob Francais has been selected a finalist for the “Chief Executive Officer of the Year” award by WealthManagement.com.
WealthManagement.com, a financial advisory trade publication, considered a record-breaking 900 submissions from 350 companies for its 2021 Industry Awards, also known as the “Wealthies.”
“So being named a Finalist is really quite an achievement,” said William O’Conor, managing director at WealthManagement.com.
Rob was named one of eight CEO finalists for Individual Registered Investment Advisory Firms, a new category this year. Award criteria includes demonstrable impact on their firm, the industry and wealth management in general.
Rob had the original vision for Aspiriant and left Deloitte as a tax partner in 2000 to create the ultimate, full-service wealth management firm. Under his leadership, Aspiriant has grown from a start-up in Los Angeles to one of the largest independently owned wealth management firms in the country, serving more than 1,700 families from 11 offices nationwide. It manages approximately $14 billion in assets for high net worth clients.
What sets Aspiriant apart is its employee-owned business model, currently with 73 partners. Merging with like-minded wealth advisory firms and promoting from within have been keys to sustainable independence in order to serve families for generations. Rob feels strongly about the success of the industry, and he speaks at multiple conferences annually on topics of best practices for RIA succession planning.
Rob was very proactive early in the pandemic in transitioning our 200-person staff to a new digital, remote work environment to protect our people and our clients. Over the last 18 months, he has also guided the firm to launch diversity and inclusion initiatives, culminating in Aspiriant being recognized as a top employer for women financial advisors.
“All wealth management firms, large and small, faced unprecedented challenges to serve clients during the pandemic. I’m proud and fortunate to work with such a talented, dedicated group of professionals who always placed clients first and found innovative ways to provide exceptional service,” Rob said. “It’s for this team that I’m honored to be recognized alongside other top industry leaders by WealthManagement.com.”
Disclosure: Neither Aspiriant nor its employees paid a fee in exchange for our application to the WealthManagement.com 2021 Industry Awards (the “Wealthies”). The finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges who will also determine the winners. Criteria benchmarks included customer value, business equity, generating shareholder value, employee engagement, leadership development, industry respect and notoriety, and promoting diversity.
