Bio
As the National Director of Investment Advisory, Orin leads Aspiriant’s focus on growth throughout the country. In this role, he manages various teams that execute on a strategic plan that helps define Aspiriant as one of the largest independent investment firms in America.
He joined Aspiriant in 2014 as a Director, working with entrepreneurs and business owners on their personal balance sheets as part of the family office team. While serving clients is still his passion, in 2016 he was asked to focus his time on building the future of the firm on a national level. In this role, Orin communicates with every Aspiriant office in the country, leading initiatives and sharing best practices, while engaging with the business community on a national level.
Orin has nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry, serving high net worth individuals, families and foundations. Prior to joining Aspiriant, he spent four years as a vice president in the Wealth and Investment Management division of Barclays and eight years as a senior advisor at Merrill Lynch. Orin serves as president of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) board of directors in Los Angeles.
Before working in financial services, Orin was an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, anchoring television shows and covering news and sporting events for network affiliates around the country. As a sports reporter, he covered the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and was asked to participate as a torchbearer in the ceremonial torch relay. Orin has made service to the community a central part of his life and was honored by the California governor’s office proclaiming a day to be named in his honor for his charitable work throughout Central California.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Orin started working in his teen-age years as a Jones Beach lifeguard. Orin and his wife, Michele, now reside in Los Angeles and are the parents of two wonderful children. As a family they enjoy swimming (Orin is currently training with a Masters Swim Team), as well as many other outdoor activities. They also enjoy music and the arts and feel lucky to be living in a city that is rich in culture.
