Meet Nathan
What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
The ever-changing landscape of economic policy and the markets means different things to different clients. I truly enjoy helping people navigate what the changes mean for them and how they can optimize their personal situation.
What's the biggest challenge?
One of the most significant challenges we face in our profession is helping clients deal with a seemingly constant barrage of negativity from a variety of sources. I find it very rewarding to help alleviate the anxiety clients often develop as they digest everything and to keep them focused on what really matters most to them.
What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?
I am continually impressed with the deep and talented team of individuals at our firm.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am proud of the professional designations I have earned and how my career has enabled me to volunteer on boards. However, the most significant professional accomplishment I have experienced in my career thus far is the opportunity to join this excellent team of advisors at Aspiriant.
What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?
I consider myself curious, empathetic and logical. I think these personal qualities typically lead to finding very effective and creative solutions for our clients.
How should people think about their wealth?
Any way they wish.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Marrying my amazing wife in 2006 Having three daughters who, to this point, think I’m a pretty neat guy My first solo flight as a student pilot in 2000
What do you love to do outside of work?
My family is the most important thing in the world to me, and I try to spend as much time as possible with my immediate and extended family. With three young daughters, I’m often transporting kids to after-school events and coaching youth sports. We also enjoy attending athletic events and rooting for Bucky Badger. I like to spend time outside and try to make time for golf, downhill skiing and flying airplanes.
What was the most influential book you've read and why?
“Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters,” by Dr. Meg Meeker. This book has helped shape how I interact with all three of my daughters and has given me invaluable perspective on how I can be a positive father figure. I revisit these pages often as my daughters grow and mature.
