Becoming a principal at Aspiriant. Obtaining my CIMA® designation.

My passion for solving problems and my genuine concern for our clients’ well-being.
How should people think about their wealth?
Wealth should not be just a number, it should represent the opportunity to achieve your life’s goals.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Golf, read, go to sporting events — Packers, Marquette, Badgers, Notre Dame — and spend time with my girls.
What would you be doing if you weren’t at Aspiriant?
Organizing play dates, working on my golf game, and volunteering for the causes and organizations that are important to me.
What’s the most influential book you’ve read?
To Kill A Mockingbird.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Being happily married for 10 years, and raising two beautiful girls.

Mary Ellen has been providing investment and wealth advisory services to high net worth individuals and families since 2000. She joined Aspiriant in 2010 as a result of the acquisition of Deloitte Investment Advisors. In addition to her client service responsibilities, Mary Ellen is also a member of Aspiriant’s Client Service Committee.
Prior to Aspiriant, Mary Ellen worked at Deloitte Investment Advisors as a Senior Manager. She began her career at the accounting firm, Arthur Andersen LLP.
Mary Ellen earned a BBA degree in Finance from Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame, graduating Cum Laude. She is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
Mary Ellen and her husband, John, have two daughters, Kate and Julia, and live in Hartland. Her interests include reading, golf, and travel.
