Education and accreditations:
- B.S. in Telecommunication, University of Florida
What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?
I love everything Malcolm Gladwell writes. However, “Outliers” is probably my favorite. He brilliantly combined deep research in sociology, business and numbers into a dissertation on the hidden outlying factors of success.
What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?
Aside from my marriage and the birth of my two children, there have been a few other special moments. When I left the Central Valley as a broadcast journalist, I was given a wonderful party which included a proclamation from the Lieutenant Governor naming it Orin Winick Day for the State of California thanking me for my years of service to the community. That was a pretty cool.
Orin joined Aspiriant in 2014 as a Director - Investment Advisory, working closely with our family office team. In 2016, his role at the firm was elevated as he was named National Director. He has over a decade of experience within the financial services industry and serving high net-worth individuals, families and foundations. In addition to his client service responsibilities, Orin chairs Aspiriant’s Committee for Organic Growth.
Prior to joining the firm, Orin spent nearly four years as a Vice President in the Wealth and Investment Management division of Barclays. He also worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles for approximately eight years. Before working in Financial Services, Orin was an Emmy award winning broadcast journalist covering events for network affiliates around the country.
Orin earned a BS degree from The University of Florida. He is a member of the awards committee for The Association of Corporate Growth in Los Angeles. He is on the board of trustees of the Chase Foundation. Orin covered the Olympics in Barcelona, and participated in the torch relay. While working in Central California, The Governor’s office proclaimed a day in his honor. Orin spent his teenage summers as a Jones Beach lifeguard.
It is difficult to separate Orin’s business from his personal life. One of his first clients introduced him to his wife Michele on a blind date. They live in Los Angeles with their son Cameron and daughter Maggie.
