Teresa Greenip CFP®

Manager in Wealth Management, Partner

Meet Teresa

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

I love giving people financial clarity and peace of mind.

What's the biggest challenge?

Emotion and behavioral biases are embedded in every financial action we make or fail to take. The biggest challenge as an advisor is understanding clients on a deeper level and learning what will motivate them to overcome these biases.

What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?

Everyone cares a lot — about clients, about fellow employees, about social causes outside of work. Kind people attract kind clients, and I love that.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m a pragmatist at heart, so it was scary to leave my comfort zone to make a mid-career switch and pursue my passion for personal finance. I hope my children will follow in my footsteps and pursue their passions as well.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to what you do?

I’m a really great listener.

How should people think about their wealth?

You’ve worked incredibly hard for your money and should be making your money work for you

What do you love to do outside of work?

I love traveling, eating, boxing, cycling, hiking, gardening, and exploring the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and two young children.

What would you be doing if you weren't working for Aspiriant?

I would definitely be doing the same thing, just at another firm.

What was the most influential book you've read and why?

Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth.” I believe we are quite literally products of our own imaginations, and we are infinitely happier and more capable when we recognize the power of the stories we tell ourselves.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

For me, it’s the little stuff that matters. I feel a sense of pride when others call me kind, authentic and supportive. Sometimes those are the hard things to be.
