Meet Sam

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

Building long-term relationships with families by providing clarity and objectivity in my role as trusted advisor.

What's the biggest challenge?

Differentiating successful long-term investing from shorter-term speculation.

What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?

Being in the trenches day-to-day, with a group of industry veterans, solely committed to our clients.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Understanding the concerns, needs and complexities of high net worth families and serving them at the highest levels.

What qualities of yours make you best suited to what you do?

Curiosity and a commitment to constantly improve myself.

How should people think about their wealth?

Do the heavy lifting up front and have a plan in place for your wealth. Be disciplined around it.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Family and faith are priorities. Then either playing basketball, coaching basketball or dreaming about basketball.

What would you be doing if you weren't working at Aspiriant?

Playing small forward for the L.A. Lakers.

What was the most influential book you've read and why?

“Outliers,” by Malcolm Gladwell. Highly successful people get there by smarts, ambition and hustle. But luck and good fortune play a huge role as well. Be great, be humble and give back.
