What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?
The people. We have countless people across the country that I enjoy spending time with and would also trust to handle my family’s finances if anything happened to me.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
Helping build the Deloitte investment practice. Leading our people through the transition to our long-term home at Aspiriant.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Play basketball – 5-on-5 full court and 3-on-3 half court – and watch all levels of basketball. Travel, food and wine, teaching and coaching.

Marrying my beautiful wife Susan and adopting my son Bo from Korea.

Michael has been providing investment and wealth advisory services to high net worth families and senior executives since 1998. Michael’s clients include senior executives at Deloitte and Sotheby’s. He is a principal of Aspiriant, the practice leader of the New York office, and serves on the Investment Committee.
Prior to Aspiriant’s acquisition of Deloitte Investment Advisors in 2010, Michael worked at Deloitte as a Director. He began his career in wealth management at Deloitte & Touche in 1998 after working for eight years as a high school teacher and basketball coach in the New York City public schools.
Michael earned a B.S. from Cornell University and a M.S. from Baruch College. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional (CFP®), a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA).
Michael and his wife Susan live in Brooklyn with their son Bo and daughter Cate. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, movies, bicycling, and basketball. He is an avid basketball fan and follows all of the local teams.
