Marc serves as General Counsel of Aspiriant and as a director in the Strategic Planning Group. He was one of the co-founders of Quintile Wealth Management, an integrated wealth management firm established in 2002, which merged with Kochis Fitz in 2008 to become Aspirant.
Marc has over 30 years of experience as a tax and estate planning attorney. Prior to Aspiriant, Marc was a Client Service Director in myCFO’s Estate and Trust Services group, and was in charge of the Estate Planning Services group in Southern California. Before that, Marc was a co-founder and the Managing Partner of Cohen, Primiani & Foster, a boutique tax planning law firm in Los Angeles with a particular focus on complex high net-worth individuals and families.
Marc has developed and frequently lectures on multi-generational strategies that integrate the disciplines of tax, estate, asset protection and investment strategies to further family goals, wealth transfer and higher after-tax returns on assets including a panel discussion of family office structures and strategies at the Milken Institute’s Global Conference in Los Angeles.
Marc has served as a director of numerous complex businesses. He was instrumental in the formation and sale of Empaxis, a data management business that was a subsidiary of Quintile. Today, Empaxis reconciles data for over $30 billion in assets.
Marc is an active participant in charitable activities and has served both as a volunteer and on the International Board of Directors of Amigos de las Americas, a non-profit community service organization that promotes public health, education and community development in Latin America.
Marc is an attorney with an advanced tax degree from New York University and a member of the State Bar of California. Marc received his BA degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating magna cum laude, and was elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his JD from University of Santa Clara School of Law while serving as articles editor on the Santa Clara Law Review.
