Spend time with my family.
What would you be doing if you weren’t working at Aspiriant?
Either working for another independent wealth management firm or in business for myself doing the same type of work.
Being promoted to director at Deloitte. Helping transition Deloitte’s national wealth management practice to Aspiriant. Leadership roles locally and nationally at Aspiriant.
What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?
The Wealthy Barber. It highlights the importance of breaking down seemingly complex concepts so people can understand them.
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
Losing a significant amount of weight more than ten years ago and keeping it off.

John has been providing investment and wealth advisory services to high net worth individuals and their families since 1992. He joined Aspiriant in 2010 as a result of the merger with Deloitte Investment Advisors. John is the team leader of the Midwest Region. He also serves on the firm’s national Client Service Committee. John was named as one of the top advisors in the country by Barron’s in 2015.
Prior to Aspiriant, John was a Director at Deloitte Investment Advisors who helped lead the Milwaukee office since 2002. His career began in 1992 at the accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP.
John received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA). He is a member of the AICPA and Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). John volunteers as a member of the West Suburban YMCA’s board of managers.
John and his wife Ann have four daughters. In his free time, John enjoys various sporting activities and spending time with family. John and his family belong to St. Dominic Parish.
