Meet Ben

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

Developing investment solutions for our clients that serve their best interests.

What's the biggest challenge?

The market, and sometimes our clients’ focus on quarterly results. Our focus as long-term, value-oriented investors can put us out of step with the market for what seems like long periods of time.

What do you love most about being part of Aspiriant?

The culture. Each office has their own sub-culture, but they all share one thing in common, serving the client first.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?

Prior to Aspiriant, I had the opportunity to work on the creation of some unique investment structures: the first open-end mutual fund that invested solely in MLP’s and the first registered fund that invested exclusively in private equity. These types of opportunities benefit my role at Aspiriant.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?

An ability to see a larger picture when dealing with our mutual funds, our platform and what it could be or should be in the future.

How should people think about their wealth?

As an opportunity. Wealth can allow you to enjoy life more fully.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I have three children in grade school, and coaching or running to various events for them chews up a lot of my free time. When possible, I do enjoy reading, especially history or biographies.

What's the most influential book you've read?

“Emotional Intelligence” by Daniel Goleman. While always a work in progress, it made me more aware of how my actions, tone, body language, etc. impact all of my relationships, both personal and professional.

What would you be doing if you weren't at Aspiriant

Teaching high school or college history classes.
